Sweetening Stoke’s School Holidays with Free JAZZ™  Apples This Summer

We’ve all heard that ‘an apple a day keeps the Doctor away’ but did you know that a JAZZ™ apple a day helps to keep the snack demands away too?  The never-ending requests for snacks can be a challenge for most parents, but for many struggling families, the pressure to find an extra six-weeks’ worth of meals plus snacks can feel immense.

Everyone loves JAZZ™ apples!

Thanks to a delicious donation from leading global fruit manufacturer, Worldwide Fruit, we’re giving away over 6000 JAZZ™ apples at our Stoke-on-Trent family hubs. The refreshing, tangy apples will also be given away with JAZZ™ apple slicers, perfect for extra easy apple-eating, especially for little hands. You’ll find the added extras at our Westfield, Bentilee, Stoke North and Broken Cross hubs until we run out!

Mark Game, CEO of The Bread and Butter Thing said: “The summer holidays should be a time of fun and freedom, but we know that the reality is very different for many low income households. With no school support or free meals, parents often have to make tough choices to help put extra food on the table.  Whilst it’s great that we’re able to help families in Stoke, we’re constantly looking for ways to do more. A massive thanks to our consistently brilliant partner, Worldwide Fruit for their contribution. JAZZ™ apples always go down a storm with our younger members so we’re thrilled to be able to offer a tasty but healthy treat and we hope the slicers come in handy too!”

The first British JAZZ™ Apple crop hit the shops in November 2007. Fast forward 16 years and JAZZ™ is the fastest growing variety in the UK and is grown in over ten countries around the world.
