New affordable food club comes to Stamford

Working in collaboration with South Kesteven District Council (SKDC), award-winning charity, The Bread and Butter Thing launched its first food club in Stamford, on Thursday November 23.

This is the first of five hubs funded by SKDC with £152,000 from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF). Details of the four further hubs in Grantham, Bourne and The Deepings will be announced in due course.

Digital exclusion is severely limiting The Bread and Butter Thing members’ use of the internet. Many can’t access the help and support they need - from changing energy providers to claiming benefits, finding a job or accessing education options. Connecting with Confidence unites TBBT with Lloyds Banking Group and We Are Digital in a new partnership that sets out to get people in low-income communities online and digitally active.

TBBT spreads to Stoke at the new Bentilee Family Hub

Award-winning affordable food charity, The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT), is opening its first hub in Stoke-On-Trent on 26th September. Working with the new Bentilee Family Hub and with support from Comic Relief and Tu Clothing, the charity will bring the benefits of its affordable food to hundreds of local families, providing innovative support to low income families across the community.

The Bread and Butter Thing is opening its first hubs in Doncaster, taking its mobile food clubs to Thorne, Mexborough and Carcroft this summer.

Working with City of Doncaster Council and South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, the charity will open five hubs in total, bringing the benefits of its affordable food to hundreds of local families, providing innovative support to people at the sharp end of the cost-of-living crisis.
