TBBT's sixth County Durham hub will launch at Annfield Plain Community Centre on Tuesday 1st March. The project has been so successful in County Durham since its launch in November 2020 that Durham County Council has invested in a second van, meaning a total of 10 hubs will be open by mid-2022 helping to make life more affordable for local residents.

Starting on January 27th, Cracking Good Food will be running a series of cooking sessions at First Choice Homes Oldham’s TBBT hubs across Oldham.

Award-winning affordable food charity, TBBT’s annual survey reveals that the vast majority of its members are worried about energy costs. With over 2500 people contributing from 54 low income communities across the north of England, the results show that many families will be pushed into debt and hardship.

Working collaboratively with partners Worldwide Fruit Ltd and TBBT, Chandler and Dunn’s expert picking team have harvested over 150,000 surplus apples for redistribution.

TBBT launched its inaugural impact report today at an online event hosted by BBC Breakfast’s Nina Warhurst, with representatives from key suppliers, community partners and volunteers, alongside TBBT’s CEO, Mark Game. Together they charted the challenges and successes of The Bread and Butter Thing’s 2020, and outline the charity’s ambitious plans for 2021 and beyond.

In partnership with TBBT, Asda has donated nearly half a million meals across the North of England.

Morrisons is extending its work with leading food redistribution charity TBBT to provide great quality food for thousands of families in the UK, while at the same time significantly reducing food waste in its food making operations and supply chain around the UK. 

Launched in August, OL1-Oldham's Grocery Store Project is a voucher scheme run in partnership with TBBT and the local Emerging Communities team, enabling people in severe need and food insecurity to access nutritious food supplies.

TBBT is working with new partners across the North East to expand its innovative, sustainable service to County Durham and beyond. Supported by funding from Durham County Council, the first hub to open will be at Horden & Peterlee Rugby Club on 17th November.

Supermarket giant Iceland has teamed up with TBBT to offer free school meals to families in need across Greater Manchester and Darlington.

Leading food delivery company Deliveroo has donated essential household and food items from their ‘Essentials’ range to TBBT.

TBBT has received a donation of £15,000 from Amazon to help support its vital work supplying food for families and individuals effected by COVID-19 across the North of England.

TBBT, with its dedicated teams of volunteers in Greater Manchester and Darlington, has been awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service, the highest award a voluntary group can receive in the UK - the equivalent of an MBE.

TBBT has received a donation of almost 1 million period products following a 6-month partnership with Morrisons, from Always – the UK’s leading period care brand.
