Funded by East Staffordshire Borough Council, Cllr Simon Slater, Cabinet Member for Communities and Regulatory Services, said: “The Council is working closely with Bread and Butter to ensure that affordable food is available across the Borough. These new hubs will offer East Staffordshire residents fresh and healthy food at budget-friendly prices. As a council we are committed to doing everything we can to help people with the cost of living.”

Bread and Butter’s Founder, Mark Game said: “We deliver healthy low-cost food to our communities every week, so we’re thrilled to be working with East Staffordshire Borough Council to reach even more struggling households. Whilst we’re all about helping food budgets go further, we’re also on a mission to improve diets, with 85% of our members saying they eat more fruit and veg since joining us.”

“We partner with big supermarkets like Morrisons, Co-op and Sainsbury’s, all kinds of manufacturers and even farmers who provide us with their surplus produce. So, our members get to do their bit for the environment too by stopping excess food going to waste.”
