When did you join TBBT?
28th December 2020
What was your background before joining?
I have worked with children for the last 11-12 years, in EYFS and a primary school before joining TBBT team. I am also a qualified nail technician and worked in hospitality for 5 years after leaving school.
What appealed to you about working for TBBT?
My passion is helping others. During lockdown I was involved in delivering food parcels to vulnerable families within the community. This was through the school I worked for at the time. It made me feel amazing to know I was helping so many people. Knowing TBBT do this on a huge scale is what appealed to me. I can do this every single day now! As well as being amongst the community and meeting new people.
What’s the best thing about your job?
What’s your own favourite type of food?
Sushi, or any seafood really. A good seafood pasta dish is always a great choice for me.
What signature recipe would you share with TBBT members?
A rice dish. I use rice boiled in stock, then throw in some chicken breast cut into cubes and any veg I have left over. Always onions, mushrooms, broccoli and then anything I need using up. My kids love it and it's a great way to use up anything in the fridge.
Your top tip for reducing food waste in the home:
Check what is in the fridge and cupboards first, then write down what you need to make it into a meal before going to the shops.
