Hard-working, calm and approachable… a joy to work with!!
When did you join TBBT?
What was your background before joining?
My background is in Retail/Operations Management I spent four years with a company called The Fit Co, specialising in sportswear and racquet sports, looking after two stores in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Then moved onto Krispy Kreme where I worked for four years managing factories and retail stores, ensuring stores had action plans in place to hit their KPIs and sales, along with supporting store openings/recruitment/training and brand standards. I moved on to Operations for Ron Chalker, "the potato man", ensuring the business was compliant with ISO/H&S procedures, maintaining driving standards and practices for the 23 wagons and setting out clear objectives for the business and personal development plans for staff.
What appealed to you about working for TBBT?
Being able to use my past experiences in work, and being able make a difference in communities through delivering a service to them and building relationships.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Seeing the difference we make by providing affordable food, working with the volunteers and building relationships with their community.
What’s your own favourite type of food?
Italian – but you can’t beat homecooked macaroni cheese with smoked bacon.
What signature recipe would you share with TBBT members?
Your top tip for reducing food waste in the home:
As above - if you’re not sure what to do with a vegetable you've not used, peel it, chop it, pop it in a soup!
