The New One!
When did you join TBBT?
What was your background before joining?
Retail Management for almost 15 years – My most recent role was a Regional Management role which was heavily operational, people centric and fast paced. Overseeing around 16 stores across Scotland and Ireland. My entire background is predominantly within fashion retail.
What appealed to you about working for TBBT?
Both the people and the opportunity to contribute to an amazing charity! I admire the model and the exciting part of supporting a new region. The opportunity to develop the outreach within existing hubs across the North East was also a huge appeal to me. The rewarding element of the role and ensuring the process is streamlined and effective.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Meeting new people, bringing together different communities within our hubs. Being an integral part of what we are able to offer on a daily and weekly basis. The scope for us is also very exciting, and fast paced as we move into new territories!
What’s your own favourite type of food?
Sushi – any day /anytime its always a good option.
What signature recipe would you share with TBBT members?
Vegetarian Thai curry (I add lots of green chillies!)
Your top tip for reducing food waste in the home:
Lots of lists ahead of shopping, and checking what you have at home before overbuying. Making the most of leftovers and making soups ... Its usually a ‘what veg do I have’ soup which makes the most of veggies that are about to turn!
