It’s been a busy Summer for The Bread and Butter Thing. We’ve developed new relationships and new hubs in Harpurhey and Pendlebury as well as our new pop up in Moss Side. Phew!
In August, we launched our first hub with a secondary school. Manchester Comms Academy in Harpurhey has approximately 1,200 students aged 11-16 and specialises in communication-related subjects.
According to IMD statistics, Harpurhey is amongst the 1% most deprived neighbourhoods in the country.
We have found that there is a great bunch of volunteers and a strong community spirit. It’s a joy to work with them.
TBBT has also expanded its hubs in Salford by opening in partnership with The Olive Branch, operating out of St John’s Church in Pendlebury.
Another great community the we are really happy to be working with.
This now brings TBBT up to 20 hubs in Greater Manchester, with over 6,000 members, 500 volunteers and an amazing community that we couldn’t do this without.
Huge thanks to everybody that has helped us get this far!
